History of Madespa


1.985

In 1985, engineers Oscar Jiménez and José Pace, who had already been working together since 1978 in various provinces of Argentina, reached out to Macrodent, S.A.—a company that had been a leader in the dental sector in the country for decades and served clients across several South American countries—to explore the possibility of establishing a company in Europe.

1.986

By mid-1986, both engineers reached an agreement with Macrodent for the transfer of know-how, and the decision to establish the factory in Spain was finalized. By the end of 1986, the company was formally established.

1.987

In 1987, small facilities covering just over 300 m² were rented in the Santa Bárbara area of Toledo, and the first production equipment was purchased, initiating the manufacture of alloys for prosthetics. The commercial office was established on Orense Street in Madrid.

1.988

Between 1988 and 1990, efforts were focused on introducing Ventura-branded alloys and Zeus gypsum products, primarily in Spain.

1.992

In 1992, Madespa also began participating in various international trade shows in Singapore, Dubai, and Cologne, the latter being the most significant for the company's international growth.

1.993

In 1993, work began to implement the ISO 9000 standard within the company, along with the subsequent attainment of the CE Certificate for its medical products, which was successfully achieved in 1997.

1.994

In 1994, the production of amalgam capsules began, which were introduced under the Ventura brand and as a "private label" in the domestic market.

1.998

In 1998, a significant milestone in the company's evolution occurred with the relocation of its facilities to a 1,500 m² building on Río Jarama Street in the Toledo industrial park.

1.999

Between 1999 and 2001, in these new facilities, bulk dental gypsum began to be purchased and packaged at Madespa according to market demand.

1.998

Between 2003 and 2013, equipment for digital printing of boxes, cases, labels, and more was introduced, allowing the company to strengthen its private label product offerings.

 2.011

Between 2011 and 2013, the know-how for the production of dental gypsum was acquired from one of the owners of the Italian company Zeus. Production increased exponentially, reaching 800 tons per year by 2020.

 2.015

Between 2015 and 2022, with the imminent end of the possibility of manufacturing and marketing amalgams within the European Union, the company began exploring alternatives, ultimately deciding to produce alginates, composites, and adhesives.

In 2023, the facilities on Río Jarama, where medical products were manufactured and stored, were relocated to a new 2,000 m² company-owned building on Río Torviscal Street in the Toledo industrial park.
